Committees for the PCSP Chamber of Commerce

Marketing, Promotion, Social Media and Branding Committee

 Chair: Farrell Cahill

This Committee is comprised of PCSP Chamber members with varying backgrounds in the communications field. Their purpose is to create and implement a communications strategy for the organization. The overall goal is to ensure target audiences, in particular members, understand and appreciate the value of membership. This can be achieved in an environment where members receive outstanding customer service from an organization that focuses on its relationship with members.

The Committee, that works closely with the Fund Raising and Membership committees, helps with the execution of the communications plan, suggests ways to enhance member communications, and evaluates these processes.

The marketing, promotions and branding committee is responsible for coordination of marketing and promotion initiatives. It is also responsible for assisting in the preparation/coordination of the PCSP Chamber social and mainstream media focused on members and external stakeholders and other possible communications to facilitate the marketing of the Chamber.

Advocacy & Policy Committee

The PCSP Chamber of Commerce advocates for small business through interactions with all three levels of government. Municipal, provincial and federal politicians are corresponded and consulted with on an ongoing basis, allowing the member businesses a direct connection to government. This allows small businesses the ability to have their voice heard on a variety of issues.

Committee make decisions and recommendations on policy matters in the most collaborative and collective manner possible, bringing forward ideas, opportunities, and advice to the Board of Directors. Advocate for a collaborative relationship between all three levels of Government and Business.

Treasurers / Finance and Local Office Committee

 Interim-Treasurer: Erin Gallant

The Treasurers / Finance and local office committee is the main liaison with auditors and has the overall responsibility to review the financial position of the Board. Also, they review any recommendations made by the auditors and other financial related reports relevant to the Board’s operations. The Treasurer’s team plays an important part in the development and implementation of internal control procedures; therefore, ensuring your membership fees are used wisely and in your best interest. This committee of the Board of Directors of the PCSP Chamber of Commerce responsible for the administration of the local office, including its operations, IT and human/financial resource management.

Special Events/Health Wellness Committee

 Chair: Erin Gallant

This committee recruits non-board members to serve as committee members. Plans the semiannual and annual events calendar for the Chamber. Recommends new activities, and events organizes and develops strategies for member engagement

Membership Committee

Ambassadors are a link to our members. The Membership and Ambassadors’ Committee is responsible for promoting the growth of the Chamber by promoting the benefits of Chamber membership, encouraging new members to join and participate in Chamber activities, and by assisting, where possible, either directly or indirectly with member retention.

The Board’s Governance Committee ensures that its mandate and mission are being fulfilled. The Governance Committee ensures that our governance practices are in line with our purpose and are reflective of the evolving environment. Also, they ensure that we continue to attract and engage the high-level volunteer talent that brings strategic energy and ideas to the organization.
