“I am proud of the initiatives led by our local Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber has done a fantastic job of bringing our local business community together to continue to grow a healthy economy here in our town. I am very pleased by the strong working relationship between the town and chamber, which has led to many successful community projects!”

“Being a member of the PCSP Chamber of Commerce has allowed me to connect with local businesses and other community stakeholders that I might not have met otherwise. Our membership has kept me apprised of local happenings that are relevant to me as a community member and my business. Being a member also affords me the opportunity to network and stay connected to my local business community and plays an important role in my business.”

— Robert T. Stapelton, President, Rock Construction Ltd.

“I jumped at the chance to join the PCSP Chamber of Commerce as I felt it was a great learning opportunity. I was new to the business community in PCSP and wanted to find a way to engage with other businesses to strengthen my own businesses success. The networking opportunities and promotion of local businesses is well worth the membership fee. I am even happier to sit as a member of the board of directors and have the opportunity to give back to this organization and help other businesses succeed in the community of PCSP.”

“I moved back home to Nfld after being away for 22 years, I chose Portugal Cove St. Philip’s as the place to settle, get married and raise my family. The choice was made after extensive research on community, the councils’ view of the progress we need to make, schooling, outdoors activities and a solid reputation of being a great place to live.

I am the owner of 2 small business and I run a charity and retired from the army after 33 years of service. A few years ago, a chamber of commerce was formed, seeing who was involved and why I immediately joined with memberships of my 2 business and my charity. The people involved were known to be good and decent people that were the example of honesty, fair play and a genuine love of our community. Now I find myself part of several committees on tourism and infrastructure and the betterment of our community and the chair of the Heritage Committee. The people and the sincere desire to make our town a better place are amazing takeaways for volunteering and sense of pride in where I live. The Chamber’s support and the various business that give their services at no charge and those that help my charity only reinforces the decision in 2000 to settle in this wonderful community. “
